Embracing Creativity: A Journey Through Art and Writing

Updated: Mar 27

Finding My Voice Through Writing

I've been trying to launch my blog for months—well, almost a year now! On my third attempt, I realized that I needed to make room for my writing. Not because I want to present myself as a writer or poet, pffsst... not at all! Instead, this is about giving myself a breath of fresh air. It’s a break from my drawings, a chance to let another creative practice help me let go, reanalyze, and leave behind the pressure of using AI, at least for a little while.

This journey allows me to go old-school. It helps me feel like I used to—a human being of flesh, bone, and a working brain, alive and brimming with creativity.

The Power of Art and Writing

Art and writing are deeply intertwined. Each medium offers a unique way to express thoughts and emotions. When I pick up a brush or a pen, I feel a connection to something greater than myself. It’s as if I’m tapping into a wellspring of inspiration that has been waiting for me to explore.

Creating art is not just about the final piece; it’s about the process. The act of creating can be therapeutic. It allows me to reflect on my experiences, my dreams, and my aspirations. Writing serves a similar purpose. It’s a way to articulate my thoughts and feelings, to make sense of the world around me.

A Nod to the Surrealists

I often find inspiration in the works of surrealists, eccentrics, and deep thinkers. Their ability to transcend reality and delve into the subconscious fascinates me. I admire those who spend more time in that world known only to fairies and gnomes, leaving the rational earthlings behind for a bit.

In my own work, I strive to capture that sense of wonder. I want to evoke feelings that resonate on a deeper level. My art is a reflection of my journey, a visual diary of sorts.

The One Who Knows
I made this in 2013 when I was trying to master the digital brush. I titled it, The One Who Knows. Inspired by the book, Women Who Run with the Wolves by Dr. Clarissa Pínkola-Estés.

The Importance of Creative Expression

Creative expression is vital for our well-being. It allows us to explore our inner selves and connect with our emotions. Through art and writing, we can process our experiences and share our stories with the world.

I believe that everyone has a story to tell. Whether it’s through painting, writing, or any other form of creativity, we all have the potential to inspire others. My hope is that through my art, I can remind you of the inherent value and depth of being human.

Reflecting on the Journey

As I embark on this blogging journey, I invite you to join me. Let’s explore the vast gallery we call Earth together. Let’s reflect on our highest dormant qualities and bring them to the surface.

I’m excited to share my thoughts, my art, and my experiences with you. I hope to create a space where we can connect, inspire, and uplift one another.

Thank you for being here. I look forward to sharing this journey with you!
